Polyvagal Yoga & Sacred Song

  • Columbia Grange 267 37493 NE Grange Hall Rd Corbett, Oregon 97019 (map)

Events in the world and in our personal lives can leave us feeling trapped, helpless, or powerless. A therapeutic approach to yoga involves recognizing that we do have choices available now. We can decide how to move and breathe, whether we want our eyes open or closed.

Polyvagal Theory is a way of understanding how our nervous system responds to different situations, like stress, danger, or safety. It helps us understand how our body and brain work together to respond to stressors that are a part of everyday life, as well as experiences that are more significant, such as trauma.

Applied polyvagal theory in yoga guides you to become a compassionate witness to your body and mind. This gentle practice will help you nourish your nervous system, reconnect with your body, and ground yourself in the present moment. With the accompaniment of harmonium we will sing chants in English and Sanskrit to promote connection with self and others.

Join your community in moving, breathing, and being together. Your donations will support the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF).  Please bring a yoga mat and any props you would like to feel cozy and comfortable (blankets, cushions).
